The Tynwald Auditor General has a statutory responsibility to:
- appoint auditors and assurance reviewers of the accounts of around 50 public sector bodies on the Isle of Man;
- determine the fees payable for audits and assurance reviews undertaken by the firms he appoints; and
- in the case of audit engagements, issue a certificate having satisfied himself of the quality of work undertaken by auditors that he appoints.
The Tynwald Auditor General maintains a “Directory of Audit Appointments”, which sets out the audit engagements undertaken in each year. For each year, this shows which Firm undertakes each audit engagement.
